Claire travelled to Mongolia to collaborate with the Zorig foundation, a Christian missionary group
and the Mongolian Council of the Arts. During this time she ran a youth oriented stencil project for one month in the Ger districts of Ulan Baatar. The aim of the workshops was to teach the participants new skills and empower them to effect their own environment.
Due to the freezing cold weather conditions the final artworks could not be installed on public
walls as planned, so it was determined that the participants would continue the project at a later
date. One of the main learning outcomes for Claire, the visiting artist, was to work with people
who were living in extreme poverty and who were in the process of adapting to democracy from
a post Soviet communist country
