This dis-used fishing boat was generously donated to the artist by the Municipality of Sile.
The first step in the preparation was to remove the fiber glass coating from the exterior. Using an angel grinder to expose the natural timber, the process would theoretically peel back a layer from the local fishing history. Ripples and circular geometric shapes were burnished or carved into the surface to represent infinity and the movement of water.
One side of the boat was cut out to expose its ribs. The hole would be made into a seat for people to rest and contemplate about their day or surroundings.
