Magnify is a site specific installation, presented at the home of the curator Leon Hawker, in Melbourne for the second St One 20 public art event. This work was located in the front bedroom of the house and was a response to the curatorial theme about the domestic environment. It is a play on the voyeuristic act of peering through a window and the curiosity of prying into someone’s personal space. The idea of the work was to radically change the street scape from within the space and at street view, using light projection. A foam like sculpture was formed to house magnifying glasses, that were suspended in the window. Images were projected onto the glass and were responsive to the concave shapes and dimensions. This projection could be seen on arrival to the property and across the street.
